My Superman
Wednesday, June 22, 2011

I was sorting the pictures in my laptop earlier and found this among all the chaos. I forgot i had it screencapped. If only you knew how elated I was when I realised Joe replied to my tweet. I faved it, I retweeted it, I screencapped it and I wouldn't stop tweeting in ALL CAPS. Probably drove tons of people crazy. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry but I really, really love Joe Brooks. His voice is golden and his songs will NOT fail to put a smile on your face. I'm serious. Go listen to Superman. Or Lead the Crowd. Or even Hello Mr Sun.

So I'm asking you guys to help me out. If you've got extra cash to spare, please help my Superman out. Here's what he has to say about it:

You’re Invited!

This is your invitation to join me on the next step of my Musical Journey! Since
becoming an independent artist (again), I’ve decided to get creative and team up with PledgeMusic to help bring you and me closer… like bff’s… kinda. We’re going to create a 6 track EP TOGETHER :) By becoming a “ Pledger”, you are pre-ordering the new EP and coming along for the ride, gaining an exclusive behind-the -scenes view of the making of the music…in 2 months time, the EP will be released and at your doorstep all thanks to your pledge! In addition, there are some other personal items I am offering to help fund this effort. I tried to make them fun and it’s all in the name of helping me make the best music I can for you.

EVERY PLEDGER GETS:

• A Digital Download of the NEW 6 track EP

• 1 Entry (per every $10 Pledged) to win the cape, glasses or shoes from the official “Superman” video.

• Exclusive updates and access to a Pledger-only blog

• Exclusive free content: Downloads and videos of demos and live or acoustic versions.

• Pledger-only concert ticket giveaways

(+ any other Exclusive items you may have chosen from the list on the right)

EVERY PLEDGER WHO SPENDS OVER $20 GETS THEIR CD SIGNED!

THE MUSIC:

The 6-track EP will include two never before released fan favorites, along with a brand new unheard, unreleased summertime single and more! Pledgers will be THE FIRST to find out all information regarding the album (e.g the track listing, artwork, title etc.) I will be keeping everyone who pledges updated and giving “sneak peeks” as I go.

ALSO…Those who PLEDGE BY JUNE 30 will get my cover of the Leonard Cohen classic, “Hallelujah” absolutely FREE!

Your Pledge will go directly towards the recording costs of the EP… including studio time, drummers, pianists, horn players and tea bags for the highly-caffeinated night shifts.

Cape Competition:
For every $10 pledged you will receive a competition entry to win the actual Cape,
Glasses or Shoes I wore in the official Superman video. Winners will be announced at the end of the campaign.

Charity:
10% of all proceeds made over the targeted amount will be donated to BringMeHope.org, bettering the conditions for child orphans in China.

THANK YOU
I truly could not have gotten to where I am without you. Thank you for listening and enjoying my music

Please feel free to find something that best suits you and get involved :)
Peace and Love. Over and Out.

Joe x

>So why are you guys still waiting around? Help the man make beautiful music! Remember, 10% of the proceeds will go to charity. Every $10 pledged will entitle you to a digital copy of the upcoming EP. You can get lots of other cool stuff as well! Like a Signed CD for $20 etc. Check the whole list over here at Joe Brooks' Fans Only EP Pledge!

(P/S: Remember guys, USD 10 = RM 30.26 so whatcha waiting for?)

I miss my idiots :(

IGNORE ME BEING UGLY. I miss those two. Head/desk. Am only seeing Fatin like on the 9th of July maybe? And god knows when Zamri's coming back down to KL. I bet he's tired of me calling him all the time to bitch and whine about pretty much nothing actually.

I mean I wanna call Fatin but I'm scared she's forever busy. HEEEEEEEH.

Please don't leave me.
Saturday, June 18, 2011

First of all, I'd like to start this post with:

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddys in the world,
especially my Abah!

Alright back to the topic. Tomorrow, I'm heading back to Cyberjaya. FML. I mean I like the University but I do NOT like the food, the unstrategic location and the CRAPPY HOSTEL. T.T
Everything else is so far away! Malls, food outlets etcetera.

And I'm not really fitting in very well. I mean, I do have friends but they're all degree students. And their level of busy is like WAY HIGHER THAN ME. I can't be chillaxing with them all the time! They need to do their assignments and shit too :(

UGH FML.

Dare to dream?
Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Hello, hello. So, umm. I am VERY free tonight. NO ASSIGNMENT(!!) So while I'm in the mood, let me share a dream I had last night. 'Twas very interesting I must say.

So there I was having lunch with Josephine Lim (of McFly Malaysia) and Aida (a Malaysian Galaxy Defender) with these two guys. After some time, I finally realised who the two guys were. (I'm a bit slow in real life AND in dreamworld. PFFT. Just downright pathetic ainnit?) TOM FLETCHER AND HARRY JUDD FROM MCFLY!

-hyperventilates-

So yeah. It was a lovely affair. We talked, had fun and Tom was too adorable! [I bet if Dougie was in the dream, he'll be even more adorable but too bad :(] And Aida even asked him if they'll play in Malaysia soon. Tom said "We don't know really but we'd love to come and play. We wanna see you girls again"

I WAS LIKE "OMG WE NEED YOUUU!"

And then I woke up. It sounds short but that's basically all I remember unfortunately. UGGGGGGGGH. Seriously. WHY?! asdfghjkl

Being a Malaysian McFly fan is seriously killing me. They don't sell their albums LOCALLY (excpt for Just My Luck and Above The Noise), they're probably never coming here and I might never be able to catch them live in concert!

Do you know how much it HURTS to reside in an area so freaking near to the airport but there's basically no point of going there to camp out and wait for my boys to arrive here? GEEEEEEZ.

I sure hope Joe Brooks comes to Malaysia though. AND I HOPE IT'S AFTER MY MID-TERMS AND BEFORE MY FINALS.

M.E.M.O.R.I.E.S.
Friday, May 27, 2011

Actually wanted to blog more about yesterday but the stupid iPod update download messed with my entire PC and it kept crashing. In the end it didn't even finish downloading. FML.

Anyhow, yes, yesterday was officially my last day of work before Uni and I made sure that I manned all the stations. I'm leaving the day after tomorrow and you have no idea how it breaks my heart that I'm not going to see the faces of all the staff on a weekly basis anymore. I'm going to miss having Prima, Abang Mael, and Apiz as *TLs. And I can't believe that I'm going to miss out the first time Jamie will be TL. :'( ALSO, I did not get to see MakTok! Apparently, she took leave for an entire week? What a bummer!

Imah came to work pissed with me because I told her the night before that it was going to be my last day. She stole my phone for like 5 minutes too! (You freak!) Being the kepoh fella that I am, I told everyone that it was my last day, even the PBs and abang gift shop yang psycho tu BAHAHA. But then again, I only told them because I was grateful. To have met such wonderful people (well, most of them) throughout my four months of working.

Because of them, I've become a happier person in general because working never felt like a chore. Because of their guidance, I have grown into a better person. I'm different now. So, thankyou :)

One of the PBs gave me RM10 to spend on McD (PB Izkhairi) while PB Naim paid for my daily dose of Dutch Lady Low Fat Milk :D Also, Jamie paid for my chocolate waffles... And Imah's strawberry ones (because although it was MY last day, dia busybody nak buat camne kan? Teehee)

What made my day the most was getting hugs, getting a compliment from an old White lady who told me my English was good and couldn't believe it when I told her I was born and raised in KL, and the GARDEN GNOME! It was so funny! This couple took their friend's garden gnome, flew into Malaysia and took pictures of the gnome "going places".

Had dinner at Signatures with Jamie, Kak Mun, Imah and at the table next to ours was Sarah and her mum. It was unforgettable. Silly conversations, calling Fatin and taking turns talking to her... probably one of the best nights ever! AND AND AND SOMEONE DROVE ME (and Imah and Kak Mun sebenarnya) HOME IN THAT SAME SOMEONE'S WANGI PINK MYVI :B

Thankyou Imah,Jamie, Kak Mun, Sarah, Anis, Kak Noor, Kak Jus, Kak Zana, Abg Faizal, Abang Hashim, Kak Chik, Apiz, Jamie and PBs Ecah, Firdaus, Izkhairi, Kak Ziha, Azie, Leha, Faizah, Crissna, Naim and Miramar for the best day ever.

Everybody's looking forward to the weekend(?)
Thursday, May 26, 2011

Hey, hello! It's been quite some time since I last updated this blog eh? I'm sorry about that but honestly speaking, I don't think I have any readers at all!

Anyway, today was my last day at work as a school leaver. Come this Sunday, I will be in college. Probably only going to work during the semester breaks. D:

I'm gonna miss Prima's weird jokes, asking Arif for Halls, Jamie's American-ish accent, Apiz and Abang Mael D: And I'm gonna miss Mak Tok! :'(
But then again, i'm thankful that i have a university to go to. My brain is getting rusty! Eeep!

I'll never forget today. It was amazing :')
